Welcome to the Wildwood School website where our goal is to provide you with the information needed to become familiar with the Wildwood Advantage: Small School BIG Ideas! Although this website will always be UNDER CONSTRUCTION and in a state of constant change I would like to take the time to impress on you three things that will continue in Wildwood School even long after I am gone:
Wildwood School is a Community. No one person or group takes credit for Wildwood School’s success. Wildwood staff is energetic, hard working, always creative, working together as a team - sharing and learning. Parents are actively involved, seen in hallways, classrooms, library, kitchen; standing behind all that we do. Students are excited to learn, taking responsibility for their learning. Grande Yellowhead Regional Division #35, of which we are a proud part, provides rich opportunities for staff development and ongoing support. Together we work in the best interest of our children, inspiring our students to learn and achieve excellence.
Wildwood is a Great Place to Learn. Staff spend a great deal of time getting to know each child to better meet academic and social needs while encouraging students to take on ever greater responsibility for their own learning from Kindergarten through Grade Nine. Evidence of student work can be seen in hallways and classrooms along with the work of our Wolf Packs (Cross-graded family groups) where junior high leaders make sure that Character Counts.
Wildwood makes you smile . . . from our five-foot wolf, carved from native spruce, to our wolf mural and creed in the foyer . . . from hard earned sports banners in the gym to the carefully painted ceiling tiles of former students proud to mark their passage. . . from Wildwood Wally poised to make another Ground Hog prediction to you seated in the bleachers cheering on the home team. Each little nook of Wildwood produces memories strong enough to entice former students back for another look at a fondly remembered childhood.
